Why Gluten Free? Many individuals have asked about gluten free vegan food and some have even commented that it can sometimes be difficult to locate gluten free vegan food in stores. Just remember that you will probably need to adjust your diet slightly to ensure that you don’t experience unwanted side effects.

I enjoy eating gluten free because it means that I do not have to plan my meals around meals with meat, fish, or eggs. In fact, this diet has made me lose weight! That’s right, without having to worry about unhealthy snacks or fast food, I can actually eat a satisfying meal that is satisfying and nutritious on its own. All you need to do is adjust your diet a bit so that you do not miss out on foods rich in protein, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals that you might need.

The hardest part of switching to a gluten-free diet was the transition to buying whole foods. When I began eating gluten free foods, I had to buy them very occasionally. Once I got used to it, I discovered that most grocery stores carry a wide variety of excellent vegetables, fruits, and grains. This makes it much easier to prepare a wide variety of dishes, from soups and stews to salads and desserts. The key to making this switch is to understand what types of ingredients are considered gluten free.

Gluten is found in wheat, rye, barley, and oats. Many foods that are labeled as “gluten-free” actually contain traces of gluten, even though they claim to be free of gluten. When shopping for gluten free products, it is best to stick to 100% gluten-free items. You can usually tell if something contains gluten by looking at the ingredients. If you see the word “wheat”, it means that there may be one or two ingredients that are wheat, rye, or barley.
